Idler rollers are classified according to their purpose

Idlers are classified into self-aligning idlers, impact idlers, troughed idlers, and parallel idlers according to their purposes. The function of self-aligning idlers is to correct the deviation of belt conveyors. Rotating troughed self-aligning idlers are usually installed on the heavy-load sections of conveyors, while parallel self-aligning idlers are installed on the no-load sections. Impact idlers are applied to the tail frame according to actual conditions. When receiving material, they can reduce the impact of the material on the belt, which is beneficial to extending the service life of the long belt. Troughed idlers are generally composed of two side idlers and one flat idler, with a trough angle of 30 degrees. For detachable belt conveyors, the three idlers of the troughed idler are hinged together, hence the name hinged idler. Parallel idlers are generally a long roller installed at the lower end that bears pressure, hence the name lower idler.
Idlers are divided into two types in terms of material: steel idlers and plastic idlers. The bearing housings of idlers come in three types: cast iron, steel plate stamped, and phenolic plastic. Price of idlers
The seals of idlers are classified into steel and plastic types. Both types are filled with lubricating grease internally. The quality of idlers directly affects the power consumption of belt conveyors and the lifespan of the belts. Therefore, dust-proof sealing and good lubrication are important usage standards.
Idlers account for 35% of the total cost of a belt conveyor and generate more than 70% of the resistance, so the quality of idlers is particularly important.
